TamperTechThe Security Lab

01Technical service

Got a packaging security problem?

Send us the pack. We’ll help solve it.

You don’t need to know which security label or tape you need. That’s our job. Tell us what you’re trying to protect, how the pack is used and what needs to happen if it’s interfered with. We’ll help work out the right solution — and, where required, how to apply or integrate it.

02Problem recognition

What are you trying to protect against?

Pick one and we’ll pre-fill it on the application form.

03Specification

You don’t need to know which security label or tape you need. That’s our job.

Void, destructible, transfer, non-transfer, serialised, covert, overt, paper, film, specialist adhesive… there are a lot of options, and picking the wrong one is an expensive way to find out. We don’t expect you or your customer to specify the technology. Tell us what needs protecting, how the pack is handled and what the surface is — or just post us the pack. We do the specifying.

  • Void / destructible
  • Transfer / non-transfer
  • Serialised / QR
  • Covert / overt
  • Paper / film
  • Specialist adhesives

How the Security Lab works

  1. 1

    Tell us the problem

Complete the short application form and upload photos if available.

  2. 2

    We review the pack

Our team assesses the surface, application, tamper risk and practical requirements.

  3. 3

    We recommend an approach

We suggest suitable security constructions, placement and testing.

  4. 4

    We prove it

Where appropriate, we produce samples or test on the actual pack before commercial supply.

No obligation. No need to know the technical answer first.

05Applications

Where these problems usually show up

Cartons

Show visible evidence when a flap has been opened or a label removed.

Bottles and jars

Seal a curved neck or cap so it cannot be reclosed without leaving a mark.

Pouches

Make a resealed or slit flexible film obvious to the person receiving it.

Electronics / high-value goods

Prove a device or enclosure has not been opened, swapped or serviced in transit.

Pharmaceutical / healthcare packs

Give a clear first-opening indication on a small, tightly specified pack.

Nutritional products

Protect tubs and sachets against refill, substitution and repackaging.

Cosmetics

Deter refilling and copying without spoiling a premium unboxing.

E-commerce parcels

Show whether a parcel was opened before the customer received it.

Industrial components

Mark calibration, warranty or service access on oily, textured or coated surfaces.

06Who is the Security Lab for?

Two ways in. If the problem belongs to a customer of yours, come in as a partner. If it’s your own pack, come straight to us.

Route 01 — Partner / customer application

Got a customer with an awkward security application?

Send it to us.

We can work behind the scenes with your team to help specify, sample and solve the application — from choosing the right tamper-evident construction through to practical application and integration.

Solve the problem. Add value. Keep the relationship.

For packaging distributors, resellers and approved partners, TamperTech can offer reseller pricing, allowing you to add specialist security solutions to your offering without needing to build the technical expertise in-house. Reseller pricing is available subject to the partner relationship and the application.

  • Technical specification and support.
  • Sampling, application and integration support.
  • Your customer gets a practical security solution.
  • You retain the customer relationship and the opportunity to make margin.

Partner-led enquiries stay partner-led

Where you bring us the application, we work with you to support your customer rather than trying to take over the relationship.

Built for

  • Packaging distributors
  • Contract packers
  • Packaging consultants / designers
  • Machinery / application specialists
  • Fulfilment / logistics partners

Route 02 — Direct application

Solving your own packaging security problem?

Send it straight to the Security Lab.

We’ll help identify a practical, cost-effective solution appropriate to your application — without adding unnecessary security features, complexity or application cost.

The right level of security for the application — not security for security’s sake.

07Application

Put it through the Security Lab

Don’t know the answers? That’s fine. Tell us what you can and we’ll work from there.

01 — Who you are
Are you submitting this for your own company or for a customer?
02 — What you’re trying to protect against

Select as many as apply. Not sure? Pick “Not sure”.

03 — The pack

Don’t know? Leave it blank.

A rough range is fine — it helps us suggest a realistic format.

04 — Application & integration
How will this be applied?

Don’t know the technical details? That’s fine. Show us the pack or line and we’ll help work out the most practical way to apply it.

Do you need help with application or integration?
05 — Environment & supply chain

A security label only works if it survives the real journey. Two different things matter here: the condition of the pack when the label goes on, and the conditions it has to stay on through, in service. Tell us what you know — “not sure” is a useful answer.

Service conditions — what the pack has to survive after it’s sealed

Select as many as apply.

Temperature range in service (optional)
Application conditions — what state is the pack in when the label or tape goes on?

Applying to a frozen or damp surface behaves very differently to applying at ambient — this is one of the most common reasons a seal fails in the field.

Where does the pack go downstream? (optional)

Substrate datasheets, storage specs or existing test reports. PDF, DOC, XLS or ZIP.

06 — What’s at stake
What happens if this problem isn’t solved?

Select as many as apply.

07 — Evidence

A photo of the pack, the seal area and the surface it needs to stick to tells us more than a description. JPG, PNG, WEBP or HEIC.

A short clip of the pack being opened, resealed or tampered with is often the fastest way to show us what’s happening. MP4, MOV or WEBM.

Specifications, pack drawings, label artwork or existing material data sheets. PDF, Word, Excel, SVG, EPS or ZIP. Up to 6 files per box, 20MB each.

08 — Preferred next step

Privacy notice. The details and files you send — including photographs and specifications of your packaging — are used to assess your enquiry and to contact you about it. Uploaded files are stored privately and are not published or made publicly accessible. Read our privacy policy.

09Method

What we prove before we recommend it

We don’t recommend a construction because it sounds secure. We work through the same technical sequence every time, so the recommendation you get is the right level of security for the application — and we can show you why.

  1. 01

    The pack

Substrate, surface energy, texture, coatings, curvature and seal area — what we are actually asking a label or tape to hold on to.

  2. 02

    The risk

What interference looks like in practice, who needs to see the evidence, and whether it must be overt, covert or both.

  3. 03

    The application

How it gets applied — by hand, on an existing applicator, or integrated into a line at a given speed and application point.

  4. 04

    The environment

Temperature at application and in service, cold chain, moisture, oils, abrasion and the downstream journey the pack actually takes.

  5. 05

    The test

Adhesion, void performance and removal behaviour checked on the real pack — not on a flat test panel.

  6. 06

    The result

A specified construction, placement and application method, with the evidence behind why it is the right level of security for the application.

Where the environment is demanding — frozen, oily, abraded, exported — we test on your actual pack rather than a flat panel, then tell you what we observed.

Got an awkward one? Good.

Send us the pack.
